Co-founder and designer for CloudAhoy a startup providing a mobile/web solution for debriefing for pilots.

Co-founder and designer for Viddyo, a startup providing technology that produces personalized video for a variety of applications.

November, 1993 to 1996.

Project Manager. CataLogic Managed the development of the Scitex CataLogic project. A database publishing system for the catalog publishing market.

Responsibilities included researching the needs, design and definition of the product, as well as managing the R&D team.

Activities that were coordinated included preparation for Beta sites, documentation etc.

CataLogic won the Seybold Award of Excellence at its first showing on March 1994

August 1988 to 1996

Manager of User Interface Design, Scitex America Defined the feature set and designed the user interface for all Macintosh based applications, as well as other platform systems, developed by Scitex companies. (See enclosed project list.)

In all projects, the design process was based on extensive contacts with customers and potential customers.

Responsibilities included understanding the needs, defining the feature set and communicating the design to the R&D team.

February, 1991 to Jan 1993.

Project Manager Scitex Echo, Scitex America Managed the development of the Scitex Echo remote proofing system. Responsibilities included market research, product definition and design, managing the R&D effort and coordinating activities such as Beta testing, setting up production logistics and writing of the user manual.

Product is now shipping and received rave reviews at the Imprinta show as well as the Sybold seminar.

December, 1985 to July, 1988

Principal Designer in the corporate design team. Scitex Israel. Designed the complete Scitex product line first shown in Drupa 1986. Product line included 5 workstations, plotters, scanners and accompanying furniture. During this period all Scitex products were designed by the industrial design group (a two person team).

Reported to the corporate manager of user interface design.

December, 1984 to August, 1985

Application engineer for the Scitex Vista workstation. Gathered information for the marketing group and provided feedback to the R&D project team for the Scitex Vista, the world’s first design to production workstation.

The job included traveling around the world to Vista customer sites, understanding their workflow issues, training them and acting as a liaison with the R&D team, providing feedback and new ideas from the field.

Reported to the manager of marketing, Pre-press division.

January, 1981 to December, 1984

Principal in RH+ Design Services. RH+ Design Services was a consulting firm that provided design services in various areas including:

Industrial design: furniture, automotive, exhibitions, packaging.

Projects were followed from conceptualization through production.

Software development: Provided software design services such as:

* A point of purchase furniture design software system.

* A system for collecting information in intensive care units based on portable computers (Sharp PC 1500).

* A system for collecting information from municipal water meters based on portable computers (Sharp PC 1500).

* Font editors for dot matrix printers.

August, 1982 to December 1985

Staff lecturer. Bezalel School of Design. Instructed college courses in two topics: Industrial design, and the use of computers in the design environment.

Set up the school computer shop.

Competencies

Etan Rozin employs a design methodology of iterative design refinement feedback and implementation that uses progressively more detailed mockups of the designed application using technologies that are as close as possible to the target platform.

This has provided an extensive list of technologies that Etan Rozin is proficient with and uses regularely including:

  • Adobe Creative Suite components (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks).
  • Flash design and ActionScript.
  • HTML, XHTML.
  • Javascript and various JavaScript frameworks such as JQuery, Dojo, Ext etc.
  • CSS styling and layout.
  • Ajax (which is basically a combination of the three proceeding technologies)
  • Adobe Flex
  • Microsoft Visual Studio incorporating C# and Visual Basic.
  • Microsoft Visual Studio development for mobile devices.
  • Microsoft Silverlight and the Expression Suite.

  • Apple Macintosh development environment.
